Patricia Bryan

Patricia Ann Bryan was born in Angola, Indiana in the tri-state area of Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. She was the baby in a family of six children. She loved the “real” rain, thunder and lightning storms of the Midwest, an appreciation she passed on to her daughters. After high school she joined family in Southern California where she raised her daughters, Adrian and Rachel, and step children Shannon (Soleta) Tittle and Christian Soleta. In California she grew to love the ocean and body surfing. Following Adrian’s high school graduation, Patricia, Adrian and Rachel returned to family in the Michigan/Indiana area. The best part of that time was having her girls and family get to know and enjoy each other. Eventually the three moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Patricia enjoyed theater and singing. In high school her favorite activity was as a thespian. She found joy in playing the piano, especially with the quick-pace of ragtime and Scott Joplin. A favorite pastime was playing competitive card games with a large family group, where she often came out the winner. She was the neighborhood Mom to two generations of kids; even in Colorado after her children were grown she was befriended by a neighborhood boy. Patricia loved to cook, from traditional to new, from all cultures, making her own creations and recreating restaurant favorites. Entertaining was always the other half of cooking for her; dishes would change according to the type of food and season. In the Los Angeles area, Patricia started work for Metropolitan Life and then moved to the Pacific Lighting Company. As a mom with young children she became the Sunday School Superintendent and a preschool teacher, sharing her love for theater by directing the Theater Arts program. In Colorado, she enjoyed working for SMR (Save More Resources) and found her work in the Mesa County Work Force Center Resource Room rewarding. Despite life’s challenges, she ***learned to dance in the rain,” always recognizing that “the battle is not ours, it is the Lord’s.” In addition to her children, Adrian Soleta, Rachel Hanson (Sean), and Shannon Tittle (Dan), Patricia is survived by and will be missed dearly by two brothers and their wives, Don & Ruthann and Richard & Sheila, as well as her oldest brother’s wife, Bonnie. She will also be missed by many nephews, nieces, and their children.
