Walter Delaney age 66, husband of Diane Delaney, died Wednesday July 17, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Walter was a Heavy Equipment operator and member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Berea. He was born in Garrard County to the late Henry and Lucille Delaney; he was preceded in death by two grandchildren Isaiah Thomas Delaney and Joshua Henry Delaney and brothers Robert Clifton Delaney and Larry William Delaney.

Walter is survived by his wife Diane Delaney of Berea, his children, Phillip (Mary) Delaney, James (Kim) Delaney, Angie (Greg) Thacker, Bobby (Cristi) Abner, Vicki Spivey, Donna (Kenny) Branham, sisters; Lettie Sexton, Elizabeth Simpson, Jackie Whitis and brother Daniel Delaney, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Walter will be Monday July 22, 2013 at Lighthouse Baptist Church at 11 am. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery, Bro. Roy Himes will officiate services. Pallbearers will be James Allen Delaney II, Michael Allen Keaton, Dalton Turner, Derek Thacker, Dylan Thacker, and Kenny Pierson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Carpenter, Ralph Carpenter, Kenny Montgomery, and Kenny Branham. Visitation will be Sunday from 6-9 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
