Robert Morgan Griffith, Jr., “Bob”, 64, died on Friday, August 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 15, 1949. Bob was a lifelong resident of Johnson City, TN. He was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, cooking, golfing, and telling jokes. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Patsy Anderson Griffith and his brother Steve Griffith. Bob is survived by his brother Andy Griffith, his sisters Nancy Lester and her husband Michael, and Carol Boles and her husband Chase. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Shawn Youngman, her husband Scott, Allison and Ashley Cook, and Olivia, Jared and Seth Boles; and great-nieces Ella, Madelyn and Sophia Youngman. A celebration of life service will be held in the East Chapel at Appalachian Funeral Home, Johnson City, on Saturday, August 10th at 3:00 p.m. The service will be conducted by Bishop Richard Looney and The Reverend Douglas Grove-DeJarnett. Special music will be provided by Ann O’Quinn. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Private interment will be at a later date.
