David Fleetwood Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania Obituary

David Fleetwood

David Lee Fleetwood, 62, of Saylorsburg died suddenly on Monday, August 5 2013. He was the husband of Pamela (Luck) Fleetwood. They had observed their 31st wedding anniversary in November. Born in Milford, DE and raised in Seaford, DE he was a son of Ann (Trice) Fleetwood Meritt of Bridgeville, DE and the late Arthur Lee Fleetwood. David served his country in the Air Force and then joined IBM in Richmond, VA. David retired after a successful career as manager with IBM, a career which began in Virginia over 40 years ago and eventually brought him to Chestnuthill Township. Retirement was a new chapter for David and it allowed him to do what he had a real passion for, and that was to help others, whether individually, or as a group. He could be counted on to plow driveways during snowstorms, cut trees down, or anything else that would aid a friend or neighbor. Dave was president of the West End Little League for many years and he was running for his second term as Chestnuthill Township Supervisor this year. Dave worked tirelessly to help run the parking at Pocono Raceway, allowing volunteer groups to raise money for their organizations. Dave's most recent activities have included raising funds for our regional park through the West End Park and Open Space Commission. He was also involved with the celebration of Chestnuthill Township's 250th anniversary. In addition to his wife and mother, Dave is survived by two sons, Chad Matthew Fleetwood of Alexandria, VA and Christopher Lee Fleetwood of East Stroudsburg; a daughter, Elizabeth Ashley Harrison and her husband Brad of Henryville; three sisters, Linda Littleton and her husband Ed of Seaford, DE, Mary Fleetwood of Spring Hill, FL and Susan Fleetwood of Galestown, MD; a brother Alan Fleetwood and his wife Krista of Newark, DE and three grandchildren, Jacob and Lee Fleetwood of Alexandria, VA and Emily Harrison of Henryville. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 11 from the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209 Brodheadsville. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of West End Park and Open Space Commission, P.O> Box 243, Brodheadsville, PA 18322. www.kresgefuneralhome.com
