Daniel R. Capozello, 76, died May 22, 2013, in his Wyomissing residence. He was the husband of Marilyn R. (Jacobs) Capozello. Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Pietro and Margaret (Marsicano) Capozello. He was a 1955 graduate of West Reading High School and attended University of Georgia. Dan was a multi-sport standout at West Reading High School from 1952-1955. He still holds the Berks County record for the most touchdowns (7) scored in a football game. He was elected to the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Team Division for the 1952-1953 West Reading Cowboys High School football team. Dan was co-owner of P.C. Fruit and Produce, North 8th St., Reading. P.C. Fruit and Produce merged with G.H. Delp (Wetterau). He also worked for ATV Bakery of Reading and was last employed by Wyomissing Area School District. Dan was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Daniel R. Jr., husband of Jennette Capozello, Cave Creek, AZ; Stephen P., husband of Marcy Capozello, Spring Township; and Joseph P., husband of Nicole Capozello, Exeter Township. There is one brother, Peter Capozello, Wyomissing. Six grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Nathan, Allison, Ethan and Emily; two step-grandchildren, Brett and Stacy and two step-great-grandchildren, Brandon and Chase also survive him. He was predeceased by his brother, Fred Capozello and his sister, Mary Tazik. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
