Ronald Paul Viola, 67, of Mays Landing passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to the late Primo & Barbara (Burgess) Viola in 1946. Ron was a sergeant with the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1972. He retired from the Operating Engineers Union Local 825 in 2008 and Sexton's Equipment Company of Vineland in 2012. He was an avid outdoorsman and family man. If not out hunting or fishing, he was cooking up delights for his family. Ron was a Scout Master for Boy Scouts Troop 10. Additionally he was a vital part of the Camping Club at Vineland High where he shared his love of the outdoors and camping with a multitude of high schoolers. He could always be found in the cook tent preparing meals. Ron is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Beth (Baniky) Viola; son & daughter-in-law, Ronald & Bailey Viola; daughter & son-in-law, Kaitlyn & Matthew Totora; grandchildren, Mykaela & Cole Totora; sister, Taffy Manchester; sister & brother-in-law, Karen & Dana Snell, all of Gardiner, ME; brother, David Viola of Carver, MA. He will be sadly missed by his beloved pets, Fannie, Pasquale, and Tilly. A Funeral Home Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm at Rone Funeral Service. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Friends may gather at the church after 9:45am until Mass begins. There will be no visitation on Saturday. Interment will take place at a later date in The Atlantic County Veteran’s Cemetery in Estell Manor at the convenience of the family.
