Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for LeeRoy Joseph "Cowboy" Romero, 77, who passed away on August 28, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center at 6:26 pm. Reverend Kenneth Domingue, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church of Leonville, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mr. LeeRoy, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Simon Romero and the former Elize Boutte. Mr. Romero worked for Schlitz Beer for 25 years and Quality Brands for 24 years. After his retirement in 1997, he went to work for Express Courier for 11 years in the Lafayette Area. LeeRoy loved meeting new friends and believed family was the most important thing in the world. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Flo Anna Breaux Romero of Lafayette, LA; one daughter, Dianna Schroeder of Houston, TX; three sons, Kenneth W. Romero and wife Becky of Youngsville, LA, Dwayne K. Romero and wife Eileen of Youngsville, LA and Brian L. Romero, Sr. of Lafayette, LA; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one brother, Willis J. Romero and wife Virginia of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kody Romero; one sister, Audrey Romero Lavergne; one brother Willie "Rome" Romero; and one half brother, John LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Romero, Jr., Josh Romero, Brian "Lee" Romero, Jr., Derrick Miller, Jared Schroeder, Rusty Romero, Steven Romero, and Patrick "T-Pat" Lavergne.
