Master Sargent Retired Daniel P. Williams Jr. (USAF) age 44 of Freesoil, MI passed away on September 2, 2013 at West Shore Medical Center in Manistee. He was born January 21, 1969 in Manistee son of Daniel P. and Laura J. (Magmer) Williams Sr.
Daniel graduated from Freesoil High School in 1987 and entered the U.S. Air Force Combat Search and Rescue. He married Michelle Baptist on January 21, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. He was employed as an aircraft mechanic working on HH60 Pavehawk Helicopters for 20 years retiring August 31, 2007. Dan was a member of the Eagles with the Manistee branch. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cutting fire wood with his brother Vince.
He is survived by his wife: Michelle Williams, son: Daniel P. Williams III, daughter: Gracie Williams, his parents: Daniel P.( Laura) Williams Sr., brother: Vince (Rebecca) Williams, nephews: Austin and Vincent Williams, nieces: Kierra, Ashleigh and Haleigh Williams all of Freesoil.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather and his mother and father-in-law.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday September 10, 2013 at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington with Father Wayne Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. There will be no visitation at church before the service.
Burial will take place at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington.
