CHELMSFORD - Edward McNamara after a long illness, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2013 at Willow Manor in Lowell MA. He was born on July 11,1928 in Malden, MA, son of the late Bernard and Margaret McNamara. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty, three children Edward McNamara and his wife Christine, Peggy Eastman and her husband Gerry, and Patty Raji and her husband Aziz. Ed adored and was very proud of his grandchildren Meagan and Gerard Eastman, Kyra and Kinsey McNamara, and Yasmine Raji. Edward is also survived by his brothers Walter and Robert McNamara. He was predeceased by his brothers Bernie, Richard, BIlly and Leonard, and his sister Louise. Ed graduated from Boston University with a BS in Business. He served as a rifleman in the US Army and was stationed in Japan. He loved sports and played both baseball and hockey. He was a very devoted supporter of his children's sports activities and their greatest cheerleader. Ed was a terminal manager for many major trucking companies. Later he opened his own business, Marketing Services Co. Ed was a kind gentle man. A wonderful husband, loving father and devoted and proud grandfather. Ed was well liked by everyone he interacted with. He will forever be remembered for his strong soul, and generous personality. Ed's family would like to thank the friends and staff of Willow Manor for the loving care he received during his time with them. Memorial visitation will be held at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD on Wednesday from 4 until 7 pm. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10 o’clock at the Central Congregational Church, One Worthen St., Chelmsford, PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
