David Irwin Gravlin

David Irwin Gravlin, 73, of Rochester Hills, died peacefully in his home on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was born on November 25, 1939 in Sterling, Michigan, a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Hebert) Gravlin. David served his country honorably in the U.S.Army. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Carol on June 29, 1985 in Warren, Michigan. The couple moved a lot, living in Sterling Heights for several years and most of their married life in Rochester Hills. He was employed as a shipping manager in the carbide business until retirement. David loved hunting, shooting, was an avid reader, loved politics and ran for office under the libertarian ticket. He was a true patriot who loved his country and valued family. David was easy to talk to, very sociable and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. David is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; his loving children, Laura (Kevin) Vallelunga, Julie (Curt) Redinger, Wade (Cyndi) Gravlin; his adoring grandchildren, Phillip, Samantha, Nicholas, Tyler and Morgan; his loving brothers, Joseph, Tim and Pat and his sister, Gail. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy. Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Sunday, September 29, from 4pm till time of funeral services at 8pm.
