Marian Claire Sadler Thomas, born April 10th, 1939 in Carlisle, AR went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in her home in Holiday Island, AR. She graduated with honors from Arkansas Tech University and was a retired teacher from the Alma Primary School. She was a member of the Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville and a longtime former member of the First Baptist Church in Alma. She was a Master Gardener, a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Choir in Texas and the Islandaires Ladies Choir in Holiday Island. She and her husband Truett served in music and ministry for almost 50 years. She was a volunteer for the Echo Clinic in Eureka Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Sadler, Mildred Smith Sadler and Fern Sadler. She is survived by her husband of 55 years William Truett Thomas, two daughters, Tammi Hargis of Alma, Leslie Howell and her husband Jeff of Owasso, OK; one son, Derek Thomas and his wife Lacey of Fort Smith; the joy of her life grandchildren, Jeremy and Tishia Hargis, Ryan and Polly Hargis, Kati and Johnny Bullington, Parker Thomas, Max and Phoebe Schaffer, Phillip Gammill, Grant and Will Howell; great-grandchildren, Kalei Hargis, Faithlynn and Julie Hargis, Colton and Eli Pate and Sadler Bullington. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville, AR with visitation Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Nelson Funeral Home in Berryville. There will be an additional funeral service Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Alma with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeremy and Ryan Hargis, Parker Thomas, Max Schaffer, Johnny Bullington, Grant and Will Howell, Phil Gammill and nephew Brad Thomas. Memorials may be made to AWANA program at Freeman Heights Baptist Church, 522 W. Freeman Ave. Berryville, AR 72616
