This allows you the opportunity to choose a different product to ensure the family has a beautiful and unique selection of unique floral arrangements.

The price of these selections also includes the funeral home’s care of the flowers after the funeral and the delivery to the family or facility of choice where they can be rearranged and enjoyed by others for a longer period.

Memorial Candles

A Perpetual Tribute

The solitude and quiet peace of a flickering candle has long been a symbol of remembrance. Each candle lit will remain lit within this memorial website for the period you select. Your thoughtful gesture will be captured both in the candle as well as listed in perpetuity within the tributes section.

Memorial Trees

Circle of Life

In today’s changing world with climate change and environment concerns, “Honoring a Life” allows for family and friends to plant a memorial tree in honor of their loved one and friend. The purchase of a tree creates a beautiful permanent record on the Honoring a Life website, www.honoringalife.org. Each tree is planted through the efforts of Forestry Services throughout North America who determine where the greatest needs for reforestation are. Once planted, the geographical location where the tree is planted will be added to the record. A beautiful card is also sent to the family signifying your thoughtful gesture.

Financial Support

A Helping Hand

The time surrounding a death can often bring unexpected final expenses for the family far beyond the funeral itself. We are pleased to offer the ability for friends and relatives to financially support the family during their time of loss as an alternative to flowers and other sympathy gestures.

Obituary for Robert Crane Hogg, Sr.

Robert Crane Hogg, Sr., 85, of Salisbury, peacefully left this world on October 7, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Beth, in Lewes, DE. Born in Roslyn, PA, he was the son of the late Alexander Hogg, Sr. and Kathryn Crane Hogg.
Known as Bob, he was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran who earned his B.S. from Temple University, and M.S. in Business Administration from Pennsylvania (Penn) State University. He worked as a CPA for many years in the greater Philadelphia area, and in Salisbury at Faw Casson and Main La Frentz, Inc. as a partner. While working in Salisbury, he began teaching part-time at then-Salisbury State College. Teaching became a passion, and he later served as a professor at Penn State, the University of New Mexico, Eastern New Mexico University, and Bloomsburg (PA) University. He lived in Salisbury during his retirement years.
Bob is survived by his children Steven (Maureen) Hogg of Longview, WA, Alan (Shelley) Hogg of Hebron, Beth (Mark) Mills of Lewes, DE, and Ellyn (Richard) Kroon of Bayville, NJ; his grandchildren Michael Hogg, Mallory Posedel, James Mills, Suzanne Hogg, Hillary Hogg, Daniel Mills, Jonathan Kroon, Elizabeth Kroon, Anna Hogg, and David Kroon; his great-grandchildren Wynn Posedel and Jaxson Kroon; and the mother of his children, Elizabeth Stevenson Hogg of Salisbury, with whom he maintained a deep friendship through the years. He was preceded in death by his beloved oldest son, Robert Crane Hogg, Jr. in 2007.
A natural athlete, Bob loved playing and watching all sports. He especially liked outdoor living, skiing, reading, spending time with his family, and traveling with his dear Cristina, with whom he enjoyed a committed relationship during his later years. Bob had a good singing voice, and he participated in community theater activities as a young man while living in the Philadelphia area. He unfailingly demonstrated competency, conscientiousness, and a strong work ethic in all undertakings: if something was worth doing, it was worth doing well. Chiefly through his commitment to excellence, he set an enduring performance standard for his children and others he taught and mentored.
Conservative, humble, and a team-player by nature, he let his actions and ensuing results speak for themselves: it was by no coincidence his adult off¬spring entered into service-oriented careers, served in the U.S. Armed Forces, and/or served as volunteers in their home communities. When his children were young, Bob coached or served as a board member for many youth and teen activities—Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, midget football, various levels of scouting, and the Y-Guides. In Salisbury, Bob volunteered in various capacities in a number of organizations and societies. These included, but
were not limited to, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, White Haven Historical Society, Maintaining Active Citizens (tax preparation for seniors, Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion, and Village Oak Homeowners Association.
Quiet and steady, Bob provided an unselfish and consistent role model worthy of emulation by those around him. He was much loved and will be missed by many, particularly his children and grandchildren. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday, October 14th, 2013 at 11:00am at Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, PA., with the Reverend Paul Foster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bob’s memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or a charity of individual choice. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804. Please visit www.hollowayfh.com to express condolences to the family.
