Carola “Carol” M. (Falcon) Susanin, MSW, 43, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 14 years of David Susanin, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday (October 15, 2013). Born on March 1, 1970 in Lima, Peru, she was the cherished daughter of Margarita Herrera of Wethersfield and the late Manuel E. Falcon. Carol graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and received her Masters Degree from the UConn School of Social Work. In addition to her husband and mother, Carol is survived by the light of her life, her adored son, Kevin Susanin; her brother, Manuel A. Falcon and his wife Arleen Cohen of Ocala, FL; two sisters, Cecilia P. Gschwind and her husband Douglas of Harrison, NY and Rosa M. Thigpen and her husband Michael of Wethersfield; her mother-in-law, Judith M. Susanin of Rocky Hill; brothers-in-law, Steven Susanin and his wife Maria of Wethersfield and Michael Susanin and his wife Laura of Northborough, MA, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, co-workers and friends. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her father-in-law, Ernest S. Susanin. Special thanks to Dr. Syed Bilgrami, Kim Hull, RN and the entire staff of the St. Francis Cancer Center and Masonicare Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St. Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
