Rensselaer-Jeanne M. Barnard, 89, of Rensselaer, passed into spirit on October 20, 2013. Jeanne was the daughter of the late Doctor Daniel F. and Margaret E. (McCarthy) Hannon. She was also predeceased by a brother Daniel F. Hannon, Jr. and her husband of 56 years Leslie R. Barnard, Jr. Jeanne is survived by her beloved children Wayne R. Barnard, Sr. (Susan) and Leslie R. Barnard, III. Jeanne is also the proud grandmother of Brett M. Barnard and Wayne R. Barnard, Jr. She also enjoyed her many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Holy Names Academy she attended Boston University and the College of St. Rose. Jeanne was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield where she worked as a Benefits Coordinator. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was very active in her spiritual family Sacred Garden Fellowship. Jeanne also had a great love for animals, traveling, music and especially the Yankee Doodle Band. Her sense of humor and credible wisdom will be truly missed. We are blessed to have had her in our lives and made each of us a better person for having known her. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer on Monday evening October 28, 2013 at 7:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Monday prior to the service from 4-7 pm.
