Robert Faris "Mop" Maupin, Jr. Date of Birth: 03/09/1926 Date of Death: 10/12/2013 Robert Faris “Mop” Maupin, Jr., 87, of Kingston, the widower of Inez Benge Maupin, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Compassionate Care Center. Mr. Maupin was born on March 9, 1926 in Madison County to the late Robert Faris and Mae Stowe Maupin. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, a self employed farmer, and had previously served as a county committee member of the former ASCS board. He was a member, and former church treasurer at the Whites Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of W.W. II. He is survived by: his three sons, Robert Faris Maupin III (Marsha), John F. Maupin (Kathy), and Harold S. Maupin (Susan); nine grandchildren, Meghann Skeese (Anthony), Jessica Lakes (Wesley), Kimberly Maupin, Jennifer Maupin, Emily Maupin, Ben Maupin, Molly Maupin, Lucas Maupin, and Cody Maupin; six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by: one son, William Clay Maupin; one brother, Jessie Stowe Maupin; and one sister, Dorothy Gaffney. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, West Main St., with Todd Moberly officiating. Burial will follow in Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Tuesday, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Monty Pennington, George Pennington, Harold Rome Ray, Faris Maupin, John Maupin, Harold Maupin, and Ben Maupin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jerry Harrison, Glyndon Alexander, Jimmy Lamb, Lucas Maupin, Cody Maupin, Kendall Maupin, John Hayden Maupin, and Logan Lakes. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Issacs Lane, Richmond, Kentucky 40475.
