Obituary for Irene Grabowski

Mrs. Irene Frances Grabowski, 93, of The Manchester Presbyterian Lodge of Erie, PA, formerly of Fairview, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Manchester Lodge of natural causes. She was born December 9, 1919 in Erie, PA, daughter of Walter J. and Camilla Nowak. She married Charles Leo Grabowski on August 15, 1942 in Erie, PA. He died May 14, 2001. Mrs. Grabowski volunteered with the Hamot Aid Society for more than 25 years. She enjoyed her dogs and playing cards and dominos with family and friends. She is survived by her son Charles R. and wife, Marianne Sickles Grabowski of Hanover, PA, daughter, Kathleen Baker and companion Joshua Chapman of Newark, DE, daughter in law, Linda Otte Grabowski of Binghamton, NY; a sister Theresa Rupert; a brother Herman Nowak; a faithful niece, Betty Kaz; and four grandchildren: Galen Christopher Grabowski of Denver, CO; Alexis Marie Grabowski of Woodstock, NY; Dustin Charles Baker of West Grove, PA and Leah Marie Thomas (Justin) of Lancaster, PA; and a step grandson Joel Sickles Lancaster of Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her son Mark Steven Grabowski on April 17, 2013. Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street Erie, Pa. 16502 on Sunday from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm and are invited to a service there on Monday at 9:15 am with Father Scott Detisch officiating.
