Obituary for Shalice Laverne Holmes-Taylor

Shalice Holmes Taylor was born January 4, 1975 in Rockaway, NY. She was raised in Long Island City, NY. Shalice was the daughter of Sarah Artest and the late, Freddie Cribbs. She was raised by her mother Sarah and adopted father, Ronald Artest Sr. She was the second child of eight children.

Shalice attended Long Island City High School and graduated from beauty school to pursue her passion for hair care. She loved doing hair, and taking care of her family. Shalice is also known for her love and skills with computers. If it needed fixing, she was the one to go to.

She always showed unconditional love to all of eight children. Shalice was a loving mother to her eight children and a loving wife to her husband Kavughn Taylor. Shalice was the rock that kept her family together. Shalice loved life, she fought to live until her last days. She enjoyed life with her children and she loved going on vacation. She loved the Bahamas, It was one of her favorite vacation places.
Shalice loved her brothers and sisters and was close to them all. She also showed unconditional love to her sister Quanisha who preceded Shalice in death by regularly going to the cemetery and placing flowers on her grave.

Shalice was a loving person, with a big heart and always willing to help anyone in need. She had very few friends, but the ones she had she was very loyal and dedicated to them.

Shalice leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband Kavughn Taylor; eight children, Daquan, Trevor, Lil Shalice, Destiny, Christian, Shameek, Ulysses and Elijah; three sisters, Latoya, Shaundalyn, Angelique; five brothers, Metta World Peace, Daniel, Isaiah, Walid Artest and Khalik Artest; one grandson Gabriel; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
