David A. Gossett, 82, of Alpine, California, passed away at his residence on Thursday, November 21, 2013. He was born in Mobile, Alabama on September 21, 1931 to parents Charles Gossett and Winnie Fontaine and spent the past 60 years residing in the San Diego area where he enjoyed working 44 years for the Teledyne-Ryan Aeronautical Company as a photographer. Dave began his career as a photographer in 1950, while serving in the U.S. Navy, and in 1954, he was Honorably Discharged as a Photographer's Mate First Class. On April 23, 1974 he married his sweetheart, Barbara Humphries, and together, they raised his four children and enjoyed wonderful times with four grandchildren during their 40 years together. His kids remember him as a great father who loved them and the grandkids very much. That love was also felt for his dogs and his career as a photographer. Dave is survived by his wife, Babara Gossett, of Alpine, California, Son, Douglas Gossett of Alpine, California, Daughter, Janine Gossett, of Alpine, California and Son, Kirk Gossett of Temecula, California. He will also be missed by his Grandson, Rocwell Gossett, Granddaughters, Alexandra Gossett and Bechet Gossett, all of Alpine, California and Grandson, Nicholas Gossett of Temecula, California. His Daughter, Laura Gossett preceded him in death in 1984. A Memorial Service, with Honors, is scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California. Inurnment will also be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, in Dave Gossett's memory, to the Susan G.
