SHIELDS, Richard “Dickie”- Passed away peacefully on Thursday December 5, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Wynfield long term care facility in Oshawa, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Ellen Shields. Loving father to Eleanor (Ron) Barry, Sandi (Jim) Stuart, Susie (Jay) Shiels, Kathy (Mike) Parker and Rick (Sandi) Shields. Dear grandad to 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by their son Jimmy (2008). Dickie will be also sadly missed by Vera (Larry) Smith and daughter in-law Donna. Fondly remembered by family and friends in Ireland and England. The Shields family would also like to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff at the Wynfield long term care facility for their caring support. A memorial mass will take place at Holy Cross Roman Catholic church, on Tuesday December 10, at 10am. There will be a reception at the church hall following the service.
