Robert P. Martin, 89, of Greeley, CO passed away February 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 3, 1924 in Mitchell, NE to Alexander and Pauline (Kurtz) Martin
Bob served with the 57th Seabee Battalion in the South Pacific during WWII. Afterward he was active in the Admiralty Island Group, and the 57th Seabee reunions. He was one of the largest beekeepers this side of the Mississippi; he owned and operated Martin Honey Farm in Neleigh, NE for many years. He was also the owner of Hi-Country Insurance. He served as a School Board President and Sunday School Board President.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Bob Jr. and Anne, Gregg and Linda, Laura and Matt Fletcher, Cindy and Tim Donovan, Mary Jo and Dan Stiles; grandchildren, Andrew (Tara), Brian, Mike, Sara, Adam (Aimee), Megan and Marcus; great grandchildren, Aiden and Ashton; sister, Marylin Rice of Lincoln, NE. Bob is also survived by five stepchildren and nine step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Norma; and brothers, Harry and Gene.
Viewing will be from 10-11am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Adamson Chapel.
