Esther Coker

Esther M. Ware Coker, 86, died on Monday, July 7, 2008 in Little Rock. A long time resident of Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was living at Parkway Health Center in Little Rock at the time of her death. Mrs. Coker was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bert Ware of Greenwood, Arkansas. She attended Hendrix College and graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She was a fifty year member of Goddard United Methodist Church in Fort Smith where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women and Wesley Sunday School Class, each of which she served as President. She was a member of the Methodist Village Auxiliary and a charter member of Chapter BD of the P.E.O. Organization. Mrs. Coker is survived by two children: Daryl E. Coker of Little Rock and Rebecca Bashor and her husband Kent of Lawrenceburg, IN, grandsons: Kemp Jaycox and his wife Cindy of Cleveland, OH, Brian Coker and is wife Jessie and Brent Coker of Little Rock, great granddaughter Kate Jaycox of Cleveland, OH, sisters in law, Gladys Ware and Jane Ware both of Fort Smith and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe E. Coker, her brothers, Dr. Prentiss E. Ware and Earl E. Ware and granddaughter Kathryn Jaycox. Pallbearers are Byron and Gaylon Ware, Tom Godwin, J.P. Willis, Harold Braswell and Bob Laser. Honorary Pallbearers are the Members of Wesley Sunday School Class.
