Robert Anthony “Bob” Sharum, 87 of Fort Smith died Monday, April 20, 2009 at a local hospital. He was the retired owner and operator of P & R Insurance Agency. He was a WWII U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was retired from Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance, was a former member of the Noon Exchange Club, The Knights of Columbus, Life Underwriters Association. He received designation from the Chartered Life Underwriters. He was a charter member of the University of Arkansas Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife Pat of the home; a daughter Ann Hopkins and her husband Glen of Van Buren, AR; four sons, Robert E. Sharum and his wife Janie of Fort Smith, AR; William A. Sharum of Weatherford, TX; Curtis Sharum and his wife Christy of Salado, TX and Wayne Sharum and his wife Sally of Houston, TX; a sister Jo Ann Reynolds and her husband Harold of Lavaca, AR; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Rosary is 7:00PM Wednesday, April 22nd at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel, Mass is 10:00 AM Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family will visit with friends following the rosary. Pallbearers are grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are, Mike Cullen, Joe Nolte, Al Sass, John Gramlich, Jack Brunnemeyer, Don Reynolds, Steve and Tim Sharum. .
