In the early morning of Sunday, August 16, 2015, Tony Petovar passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 90 years. Tony is survived by Hazel, his loving wife and partner of 56 years; sons, Fred and David (Shelly); grandsons, Jacob (Jackie), Alex (Kristen), Benjamin, Andrew and Evan; great-grandson, Kieran; and sister, Marica. He is also survived by numerous relatives in Slovenia. Tony was born Christmas Day 1924 but never counted that year when mentioning his age. He married Hazel September 5, 1959 and their love spanned 60 years. The family is grateful to the staff at Shepherd’s Care Vanguard for their dedication to Tony’s care and comfort in his final days. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Douglas Duke and assistant, Teresa Genge for the many years of special care and attention Tony received.
