Bonnie Repko

On January 12, 2017 Bonnie Lynn Repko (nee Zdrill) of Edmonton, AB went to be with her Lord and Saviour following a hard fought battle with kidney disease and other health complications. She was 62 years young. Bonnie was born on August 5, 1954 in Selkirk, Manitoba to Nicholas and Irene Zdrill. She was raised in Edmonton with her five siblings and later spent her life as a dedicated and loyal stay-at-home mom, a Teacher’s Assistant working with children with special needs, and then as a Resident Companion working with people who were affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Bonnie was known for her great sense of humour, her big heart, and her desire to bring people joy. She was loved and deeply valued by the people who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, companion, friend and caregiver, David Repko; her five children, Kris (Patricia) Harding, Ryan (Kyla) Harding, Amanda (Aaron) Harding, Tenille Repko, and Colby Repko; her seven grandchildren Sarah, Josh, Aidan, Liam, Ole, Elliott, and Caelan; her brothers and sisters, Gerald Zdrill, Larry (Jean) Zdrill, , Barry (Marilyn) Zdrill, Sandy (Eddy) Poulin and Susan Zdrill. She was predeceased by her father in 1991; her mother in 2011, and her father-in-law, Brian in 2015. Bonnie's family would like to especially thank the staff and doctors of the RAH Renal Satellite Unit for their six years of kindness, patience and care. Family and friends may pay their respects Wednesday, January 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Funeral Home, 9709-111 Avenue. Celebration of Life Thursday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Gospel Centre Pentecostal Church, 9445-153 Street. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service with interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens 16102 Fort Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #202, 11227 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5K 0L5 or Canadian Diabetes Association – Northern Leadership Centre, 104-12220 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, AB T5N 3Y4.
