Christine Annette Bazylewich passed away peacefully in Edmonton on September 23, 2017, at the age of 76 years. She lived her early life in Andrew, AB and then moved to Edmonton in 1959 where she resided until her recent passing. She married Wally Bazylewich in 1966 and they had two wonderful children, Selene and Dean. She spent many, many hours as a volunteer at her children's schools. She also spent many hours as she encouraged and helped her children in their chosen activities. For many years she looked after her mother with appointments, shopping, and visits. Her faith, her church and her Ukrainian culture were an important part of her life. Christine will be sadly missed by her daughter, Selene Syvenky (Tom); grandsons Zachary and Matthew; son, Dean; brother, Albert (Doreen), Shane and Hunter. Also to mourn her passing are many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Wally Bazylewich; and her parents William and Evelyn Lakusta. Christine's main focus in life was her family, close and extended. She was a friend to everyone, especially, those who needed a friend. Funeral Rite Monday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 10951 – 107 Street, Edmonton with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
