Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce that on February 7, 2017, Donald “Stogie” Stogrin, of Edmonton, peacefully passed away at the age of 68 years. Don leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Rose Ann; his beloved children, son, Ian Stogrin; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Jeff Otto; and his pride and joy, his grandsons, Gage and Grayson Otto; his devoted sister, Connie Kerekes; sister-in-law, Patricia Stogrin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Peter Rubuliak. Predeceased by his parents, Minnie and Nick Stogrin; and brother, David Stogrin. Known as "Uncle Don" to so many, Don leaves behind many family members and friends who will always remember his quick wit, his smile and his laugh. Don was born in Smoky Lake, AB in 1949 and was always proud of his family's heritage there. In retirement he enjoyed nature, especially his backyard sanctuary and the squirrels and birds that lived there. He also took pride in watching his grandsons play hockey and baseball. Prayer Service Wednesday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Funeral Service Thursday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elias Orthodox Church. Pakan, AB. Archimandrite Gerasim Power officiating with interment in church cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
