It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Elsie "Nannie" Gibson on November 9, 2016 at the age of 94 years. Her quick wit and beaming smile will carry on through her two sons, Dave (Sue) Gibson, St. Albert, AB and Peter (Brenda) Gibson, Vancouver, BC. Her five grandchildren, Andrew (JoAnne), Patrick (Sarah), Allison (Nick), Morgan (Mike) and Cory (Nicole); and great- grandchildren, Mikayla, Danae, Brielle, Jake and Connor will fondly remember special occasions spent with Nannie, including fussing over her shortbread and famous cheezies. Elsie and her dear husband Leslie (predeceased) moved from Quebec to Alberta in 1963 where they remained to raise their family. Elsie was known by her many friends and family as a fantastic seamstress. She had a passion for both fashion and the royal family. Elsie was the second youngest and last remaining of ten siblings. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the caregivers at Shepherd's Care Kensington and Golden Age Manor and to Pastor Anne Wightman who provided Elsie with care and friendship over many years. Memorial Service Saturday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Anglican Church, 15495 Castle Downs Road, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Alberta Diabetes Foundation in Elsie's name.
