Eva Pipella Edmonton, Alberta Obituary

Eva Pipella

On March 22, 2017, a beautiful, caring, wonderful lady left us after a brief illness. Eve was a loving mother to five lucky children, Dennis (deceased), Donna (Mike), Cynthia (deceased), Connie and Rick (Karen). She was a grandmother who doted on her six grandchildren, Travis (Tara), Jennifer, Meghan, Kevin (Stephanie), Nicholas (Amanda) and Amanda; four great-granddaughters, Jaide, Jasmine, Brooklyn and Paisley Eve. She cherished her nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Eve is survived by her brother, Russell; and sisters-in-law, Patsy and Emilia. Eve was also predeceased by her husband, Michael; brothers, Eugene and Ed; grandson, Matthew; and friend, John Sowinski. Thank you to the staff of Ottewell Place where Eve was a resident. You all went above and beyond. A special thank you to Eve’s Palliative Home Care Team and to the nurses and physicians from Unit 43, Palliative Unit, at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion for Eve and her family. Eve was 88 years young. She loved gardening, was a fabulous cook, kept tradition but welcomed change, loved the Oilers, loved fashion and had great style. She taught us to always treat others the way we would want to be treated and we are inspired to follow in our mother’s footsteps and live a fulfilling, healthy, beautiful life just as she did. If you wish to honor Eve’s memory, we request that in lieu of flowers, perform a random act of kindness and make someone smile. She would love that. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
