With heavy hearts, we announce that our wonderful Mom was taken home peacefully on February 16, 2016 at 96 years. She was born June 22, 1919 in Darling, AB and lived most of her life in the Thorhild area. Helen is deeply loved and adored by her daughters, Verna (Mike) Rokovetsky, Pauline (Tom) Wolanski and Lynda Shalonik; loving Baba to her grandchildren, Sheryl (Joe) Madaski, Darryl (Alyssa) Wolanski and Coreen Wolanski; great grandchildren, Ben, Mikayla, Tyson and Dustin; step-children, Al Bodnaruk, Olga (Henry) Romanchuk and John (Pat) Bodnaruk; step- grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Edwardine (Ed), Dustin, Daylene, Ronald, Nadine, Allyssia, Allen, Amber and Justin; sisters, Mary (John) Steblyk, Mae (Laurie) Nordquist, Lucy Kaminski, Phyllis Chorney, Adelia Wawrynchuk and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husbands, Steve Shalonik and Walter Bodnaruk; parents Karl and Annie Zatorski; siblings, Adolph, Peter, Philip, Emily, Victoria, Josephine; and step-daughter-in-law, Adeline. Mom lived her life to the fullest with independence, strength and determination. She loved to play bingo but her greatest joy and devotion was her family. We will remember her sense of humour to carry us through trying times, her exquisite quilts and crafts to inspire us and her delicious cooking prepared with love for us.
