It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Sawchuk of Smoky Lake, formerly of Waskatenau, on June 29, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Helen will forever be remembered by her son, Paul (Joan); grandchildren, Tara and Sheldon (Jackie); great-grandchildren, Lukas and Cole; sister, Sophie Ashdown; and numerous relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Alex; sisters, Wanda, Jean and Violet; and brother, Stanley. Divine Liturgy Tuesday, July 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, Waskatenau, AB. Reverend Slavko Dumec officiating with interment in the Church Cemetery.
