It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Marchesin–Borin on June 5, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Ida was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a good friend to all. She had a lifetime of involvement in the Italian Church and community. She was a tireless helper and worker. Ida was happiest when gathering with and feeding family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Ida is survived by her son, Luigi (Edie); and daughters, Dorina (Jari) and Silvia (Robert); grandchildren, Adam, Matthew (Courtney), Tamara (Mik) and Heather; sister, Nives of Italy; sister-in-law, Franca; step-children, Terry (Carol), Mary (Steve), Laura (Jim) and Manuella (Brian); step-grandchildren, Terrance, Debbie, Leslie, Carrie-Ann, Tina, Tony, Donna, Laura, Angie and Jason; and many step-great and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband, Angelo Marchesin and recently deceased husband, Carlo Borin; brother, Bruno; step-children, Renato and Gabriella. Prayer Service Thursday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue, Edmonton. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church. Reverend George Puramadathil CFIC officiating with interment in St. Anthony Cemetery.
