James Carr

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Warren Carr, on October 2, 2017, husband to Marjorie; and father to David and Daniel. James grew up in Fort Saskatchewan surrounded by his loving parents, Joseph and Violet and dear friends. He earned both his undergraduate degree and Law degree from the University of Alberta where he met his loving wife of 37 years. During his undergraduate degree, he played hockey for the Edmonton Maple Leafs and during his Law degree he won a National Championship with University of Alberta Golden Bears. He had the utmost respect from his teammates and who then turned into lifelong friends. James was a successful Lawyer and Businessmen in Edmonton. He donated generously to the community and was always eager to help a struggling friend, never wanting any recognition. He was a man with quick wit, a strong moral compass, unprecedented loyalty and a gigantic heart. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the community as a whole. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held Tuesday, October 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club, 9450 Groat Road, Edmonton.
