It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Murphy. John died peacefully, knowing that he was loved and cherished. Through failing health, John enjoyed his final weeks surrounded by his loving family and the story telling of many dear friends. John will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Genie; children, Ben Murphy (Connie) and Lori Turner (Ray); grandchildren, Max, Jake, Alexa and Cassie. John was predeceased by his son, Tommy; his parents, Jack and Rose Murphy and his sister, Diana. John was well known in the Horsemen Association and he for the last several years was passionate for raising thoroughbreds and running under the banner of J&G Murphy Holdings. Funeral Service Tuesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Donations to your favourite charity, in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
