Kit, beloved grandmother and mother, passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 27, 2018.
Kit leaves behind her daughter, Jill (Ken); grandchildren, Marina, Cheryl, Patrick, Michelle, and Jeannine; along with seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert “Pat” Kelly; her youngest daughter, Larraine; father and mother, Gordon and Alice; and her sister, Gladys. Kit came to Canada in 1944 as one of the thousands of War brides who came from overseas. Kit arrived from London and settled in small towns up north with her husband who was still enlisted in the military. She even learned to chop wood and haul ice and told us many stories of her challenges living in remote northern Canada especially with two young children. She adapted and had a strength of character that was admired by all. She will be sadly missed.
Graveside Service Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim Cemetery, 105 Avenue and 117 Street, Edmonton.
