Kay Elko (nee Nahaiowski) Obituary

Kay Elko (nee Nahaiowski) passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dennis (Nelda) of Vermilion and Bill of Fort Saskatchewan; daughter-in-law, Lynn of Edmonton; five grandchildren, Carmen (Greg) Haslehurst, Greg (Deanne) Elko, Chad Elko, Tyson (Kerri) Elko and Crystal Elko (Chris); seven great-grandchildren; Crimson, Sierra, Ailish, Kacey, Nate, Evy and Ila; sisters, Mary Sherbaniuk of Edmonton and Polly Nowicki of Hinton; two brothers, Peter Nash of Edmonton and Harold Nash of Calgary; sisters-in-law, Josie Nahaiowski and Kay Kutt, both of Edmonton and many nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her brothers, Mike (Nancy) Nash and John Nahaiowski; sisters, Irene (Mike) Sereda, Nancy (George) MacCallum, Anna (Tom) Purves and Eva Nahaiowski; and sisters-in-law, Ann Nash and Amy Nash. Funeral Rite Thursday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 9831 – 75 Street, Edmonton, AB T6A 2Y8. Reverend Father Yuriy Suchevan officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
