Mary Lynn Stockdale (nee Dohei) Edmonton, Alberta Obituary

Mary Lynn Stockdale (nee Dohei)

On June 5, 2016, Mary Lynn passed away at home with her loving husband by her side. She was 46 years old. Mary Lynn is survived by her caring husband, Jonathan; parents, Eric and Diana Dohei; and brother, Eric. She is survived by aunts, her two favourite uncles, Ed and Ken; and cousins here and in the Ottawa Valley. Predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Peter and Mary Dohei; and maternal grandparents, Douglas and Evelyn King. Mary Lynn was born in Perth, ON on March 22, 1970. The family moved to Edmonton, AB in July 1983. Graduated from M.E. LaZerte High School and worked at Student Finance for a number of years. November 3, 2003 she was diagnosed with MS. Despite having to fight all that goes with this debilitating disease she would say “I’m so happy to be alive” and “I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me.” Jonathan would never allow Mary Lynn to be put in a facility and looked after her at home with great TLC. Special thanks to health care workers Karen, Rhea, Ritchie, Mary Anne and Joyce who assisted during the day. On December 3, 2007 she married her soulmate, Jonathan. Mary Lynn loved life, was a very kind, caring person and loved her family dearly. She was always “Daddy’s little girl” and had her big brother ErEr to watch over her. Her “bestie”, Trisha, was always there, through it all, for Mary Lynn. She loved all animals and had a special bond with her cat, Tweety Bird and her mom’s horse, Sir. She picked the name of her dad’s race horse, Juicer. She was very talented, loved to draw, do crafts, write short stories and dance. She was an all-round fun loving person with a heart of gold. Heaven has another angel. She is watching over us from above. We will meet again sweetheart. Love you to the moon and back. Memorial Service Tuesday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, Alberta and NWT Chapter, #4, 10016 – 29 A Avenue, Edmonton, AB T61 1A8 or the Rainbow Society of Alberta, 6604 – 82 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6B 0E7.
