Mary Marko, formerly of Waskatenau, AB, passed away peacefully at the Redwater Health Centre at the age 92 years. Mary is survived by her daughters, Diane (Don) MacDonald of Fernie, BC and Sharon (Henry) Andrusiak of Waskatenau; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Elsie (Gerry) Shandro of Cobble Hill, BC and sister-in-law, Marie Muskovich of Grand Forks, BC. Predeceased by her husband, John in 2012; parents, George and Effie Muskovich and siblings, Lena, Nick and John. Mary was born in Kamsack, SK and later her family moved to Edwand, Alberta and then settled in the Radway area. Mary worked at the Radway Hospital, where she met John Marko. They married in 1942 and bought Sam Polley’s farm north of Waskatenau. In 1981 they moved to their new house and in 2008 they moved to the Redwater Diamond Springs Lodge. John, later moved to the Radway Continuing Care Centre and Mary stayed on in Redwater until her passing. As per Mary’s request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
