Peter Jacques Huk Edmonton, Alberta Obituary

Peter Jacques Huk

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Peter Jacques Huk at his home in Edmonton at the age of 69 years. Peter was born January 4, 1948 in Marne, France, the elder son of Basile and Geneviéve (Chawat) Huk. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his parents and grew up in Calder, Edmonton. Peter was a loving father, caring brother and doting grandfather with a huge heart who cherished time with his family. Peter is survived by his daughters, Julie and Jenny (Sterling Hanham); grandchildren, Brandon, Kyah and Ryder; brother, John (Irena Tarnawsky); aunt, Sophie Huk; cousins, Bill (Lesia), Mike (Marge) and Steve and Olga Scott. Also left to mourn is the mother of his children, Irene (Wayne). Peter will be remembered for his generosity, great sense of humour, hearty laugh, hard work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand. He loved the great outdoors – fishing, hiking, golfing, cycling and especially camping, spending endless summers in Kananaskis. He loved sports of any kind, from watching hockey and football to playing basketball and Old Timers’ hockey to coaching his daughters in baseball and ringette. He wore the name “Coach” with pride. Peter will be dearly missed by his family, his many friends from over the years and by all who knew him. A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held Saturday, January 21 at 3:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue with Reverend Danylo Kuc officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Drive, Kanata ON K2M 2W1.
