Peter Korpesio Edmonton, Alberta Obituary

Peter Korpesio

With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Korpesio, age 91 years, on December 17, 2016 at the Diamond Spring Lodge in Redwater. Born and raised in the Radway area he was the beloved son of Anna and John Korpesio. From his younger years to his adult ones farming was his livlihood. He lived in Edmonton for many years before moving to Redwater and becoming a resident of the Diamond Spring Lodge. He had many friends while living in Edmonton and his regular coffee crew met almost daily at the Londonderry Mall to share their stories past and present. Through his numerous travels his stories were plentiful. Peter then made new friends at the Lodge and began a new stage of his life until his passing. Peter was the only surviving member of his immediate family. He was a son, a brother, an uncle and relative, and friend to many. He will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and by his many relatives and friends. Peter was predeceased by his father, John; his mother, Anna; his sisters, Mary, Stella, Katie, Olga and Helen; and his brothers, Tom and Sam. Divine Liturgy Friday, December 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Radway, AB. Reverend Slavko Dumec officiating with interment in the Church Cemetery.
