Peter Uganecz

On July 8, 2016, Peter Uganecz of Edmonton passed away at the age of 89 years. Peter is survived by his children, Elaine Hasay Launer and Donna (Randy) Johnson; grandchildren, Kathleen (Liz) Hasay Gallacher, Morgan, Hunter and Spencer Launer; great-grandchild, Oliver Gallacher; surviving spouse, Joanne Nicholson; and mother of his children, Sylvia Pasemkow; step-children, Daren and Curtis (Amanda); step-grandchildren, Cate, Luke and Jane; siblings, Mary Ringuette and Nick (Nancy); sisters-in-law, Maria and Eleanor; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Tichon and Fevrona; son-in-law, Dana P. Launer; siblings, Alexander (Sophie), Nick (Annie), Tina, Jenny (John) Zallas, David, Dianne (Donald) Weitzel and John; and brother-in-law, Alberic Ringuette. A special thank you to the staff at the Lodge at Broadmead (Victoria, BC) and Capital Care Kipnes Centre for Veterans for their care and compassion. Family and friends may pay their respects Friday, July 15 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Funeral Home, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Divine Liturgy Saturday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 – 153 Avenue. Reverend Janko Herbut officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
