Rose Grandinetti

Surrounded by her family and fortified with the Sacraments of the Church, Rose Grandinetti (nee Milito) passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, 23 January, 2010. Born at Cleto, Cosenza, Italy on 1 February, 1948, Rose was predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Filomena Milito, her sister, Julie Damingnani, and her dear friend Judy Byers. Rose leaves to mourn her husband of forty-two years, Gennaro Grandinetti; her three daughters, Marina Redmile (Donald), Sandra Haracsi (Gerry), and Lori Santoro (Joe), and her son, Steven; her four grandchildren, Amanda Redmile, Alyssa Redmile, Daniel Santoro, and Sienna Santoro; and her two step-grandsons, Tim and Curtis Haracsi. Rose is also survived by her siblings, Eda Mommone (Tony), Sam Milito (Joanne), Corey Meunier (Paul), and Gina Katagis (Peter); nieces and nephews in Ontario, and extended family in Italy. Rose will also be remembered by her very dear friends, Al, Marilyn, Sherrie, Curtis and Sharon. Prayers will be offered on Wednesday, 27 January, at 8.00 p.m.; and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 28 January, at 10.30 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Church, 9110 - 110 Avenue, Edmonton, followed by entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum, with Reverend Joby Augustine CFIC officiating and Bishop Robert D. Redmile assisting. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Grandinetti's memory may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
