On March 19, 2017, our cherished mother, Sadie Chorney of Edmonton passed away at the age of 92 years. Sadie is survived by her daughters, Shirley and Linda; sons, Eddy (Doreen) and James (Anna); grandchildren, Brandy (Ken) Devlin; Amber (Bing) Deng; Kyle (Melissa) and Hedin (Macy); great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ella; sisters, Lil Quist, Violet (Clay) Conradson and Cathy (Bryan) Long. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Steve; parents, Nickolai and Wasylena Shapka; sisters, Mary, Pearl, Emmy, Annie and infant Angeline; brothers, Steve, George, William and infant Johnny. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to her wonderful caregivers, Chelsea, Ritchie and Mahado and the staff of 5F3 at the University of Alberta Hospital for their kindness and care for Sadie. Prayer Service Friday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Funeral Rite Saturday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 9831 – 75 Street.
