Slavko (Stanley) Logvynenko Obituary

Early on the morning of November 20th, Slavko (Stanley) Logvynenko departed on the next leg of his spiritual journey. He passed on peacefully in comfort and with dignity, surrounded by his wife, Olha, and his daughters, Lesia (Andriy) Talpash, Hanusia (Don) Yahn and Daria (Walter) Horbay.
Born in Ukraine, Slavko came to Canada in 1950, beginning a new life in a new country. He and Olha were married in 1972 and shared 43 years together. His greatest joys were his grandchildren: Timish, Evan, Alexia, Matthew, Lukash, Zenoviy and Zoya, who were constantly entertained by Dido and his seemingly endless capacity for play and his great patience. Slavko will be remembered as a kind and gentle grandfather, a good joke teller, a caring father and a loving husband. He will be missed.
The family thanks Reverend Semotiuk for providing Slavko spiritual comfort in his final hours. Sincere thanks to the multi-disciplinary team of Unit 5D4 at the University of Alberta Hospital for their expertise, kindness and compassionate care. And, a very special thank you to Dr. Wayne Tymchak for the 30 plus years of outstanding medical care that he provided Slavko.
Funeral Rite Tuesday, November 24 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 10951 – 107 Street. Right Reverend Stephan Semotiuk officiating with interment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in Slavko’s honor are greatly appreciated to “Project Liubov” which aids sick children in Ukraine.
Вічная пам’ять.
