On October 18, 2017, Sophie Melnyk of Edmonton passed away at the age of 99 years after a courageous battle with Dementia. Sophie is survived by her two sons and one daughter, Laurette, Larry and Jerry; two grandchildren, Paula and Kate; and one sister, Julie (Jim) Poluk. Predeceased by her husband, Steve; son-in-law, Joe; and brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Sophie’s Life will take place Monday, October 23 at 12:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Reception Centre, 11015 – 101 Street.
