Walter Benko

The family of Walter Benko announces his peaceful passing on June 5, 2016 at the age of 87 years. We are grateful for the time we were able to share with him and for the chance to say goodbye. Walter will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 58 years, Stella; one son and two daughters, Donna (Clayton), Sharon (Andrew) and George (Shannon); six grandchildren, Kira (Joe), Dana (Ryan), Adrian, Jessica, Matthew and Tyler; one great-grandson, Vance; and brother, John (Mary). Predeceased by his parents, Nick and Helen; and sister, Patricia. Thank you to the staff of Capital Care Grandview for the excellent care and compassion shown to Walter. Prayer Service Thursday, June 9 at 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Divine Liturgy Friday, June 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, 15608 – 104 Avenue with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
