It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Walter Peter Chmiliar on July 8, 2019. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his daughters; Shirley (George) Baker and Deb (Rob) Hodgson; daughter-in-law, Eva Chmiliar; grandchildren: Cheryl, David, Jacquelyn, and Jenifer; great-grandson, Hugh; sister, Vicky (Victor) Lakusta; and nephews and nieces. Born November 4, 1929, Walter was raised on a farm in Myrnam, AB. Walter married Kathleen Taschuk and farmed in the Vimy area until 1988, then retired to Edmonton. He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen; his son, Edward; and his sister, Olga. Divine Liturgy Wednesday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Church, 9003 – 153 Avenue, Edmonton.
