It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Amelia Angela Hummel on April 27, 2015 at the Rosefield Care Centre in Innisfail, Alberta.
Amy was born June 27, 1928 in Carmel, Saskatchewan to Elizabeth and Valentine Froess, the 10th child of 17. She was predeceased by her husband Ed and her daughter Jo-Ann Grimwood and 8 siblings. Amy was raised on a farm in Carmel. They moved to Prince Albert and then Calgary where she met her husband Edward Hummel and were married in 1951. Amy lived in Kathryn and Rockyford then farmed in the Dovercourt area for many years before moving into Caroline in 1966. Amy operated the café counter in the Pioneer Store for many years until retiring. She was always happy and easy going with a memorable sense of humor. She is survived by her six children; Gordon (Emily) Hummel of Eckville, Vanor Hummel (Carol) of Rimbey, Charlene Hallock of Red Deer, Yvonne (Earl) Evans of Caroline, son in law Scott Grimwood of Penhold, Debbie (Gerald) Ennis of Peace River and Ted (Lorraine)Hummel of Williston North Dakota; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. A service was held at the Church Of The Nazarene in Caroline at 11:00am. Burial took place at the Raven Cemetery.
