Andrea Kelly Innisfail, Alberta Obituary

Andrea Kelly

Ms. Andrea Dawn Kelly of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the age of 50 years. Andrea was born on August 3, 1969 in Innisfail, Alberta. Growing up on the farm, Andrea enjoyed all the cats, dogs and farm activities. After attending her first few school years at John Wilson Elementary, she moved to Olds, Alberta; where she attended Horizon School, until she graduated in 1990. After graduation, Padnoma Support Services helped her to get various jobs around the Olds Area, before landing her ideal job at Wendy’s Restaurant. Andrea was very proud and dedicated to her job there. She enjoyed meeting people, seeing familiar faces and working with others. Bowling was her initial sport. She became an avid League Bowler, joining her friends and teammates in Olds for many years. She took up Powerlifting and it eventually took her to Sudbury, Ontario in 1998 for The Special Olympics. She won a gold medal in her class and was proud of her medals. Andrea was a Calgary Flames fan for decades. In earlier years, she would faithfully watch their games. She could quote you the scores, statistics and who played next, but don’t bring it up if they lost. She enjoyed travelling, camping activities with friends, movies and trips to the park. In March 2018, Andrea moved to Parkland C.L.A.S.S. Housing in Red Deer, Alberta. She loved the attention given to her by the staff and enjoyed the outings that she could partake in. Andrea will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Barbara and Lynn Kelly; her sister, Shannon Layden (Tom), her brother, Jason Kelly (Bev), her nephew, Devan Layden (Megan) and her nieces, Brianna Layden and Kyla Kelly. She will also be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as her friends and staff. A Memorial Service for Andrea will be held at Innisfail United Church, 4720 - 48 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Donations in Andrea’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation at www.heartandstroke.ca or the charity of one’s choosing.
