Doris Irene Wales of Innisfail passed away at Sunset Manor on November 8, 2015 at the age of 92 years. Doris was born at the farm near Pleasantdale, SK., on September 2, 1923. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sharon (Dwayne) Ennis of Innisfail; grandchildren Deanna (Brent) Ball of Vernon, B.C., Annette (Terry) Saunders of Lacombe, Megan (Ian) Hubschmid of Innisfail; great grandchildren Natasha (Quentin) Zatorski of Innisfail, Brendin and Acelyn Ball of Vernon, B.C., Tierra Ball of Spruce View, Paighton Arnfinson of Lacombe, and Maelle, Ronan and Braxton Hubschmid of Innisfail. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Marie (Bob) Patterson of Kinistino, SK., and Larry (Connie) Bunnah of Didsbury; sisters in law Nellie Bunnah of Grimshaw, Lillian (Rod) Long of Airdrie and brother in law Jack Archibald of Melfort, SK., and many numerous nieces and nephews; good friend Vera Buchart of Trail, B.C., and a special lady Brenda Tomlinson of Innisfail.
Doris was predeceased by her husband Cecil in 1999 and son Wayne in 2010; her father Christie Bunnah in 1968 and mother Gertrude Bunnah in 1990 as well as brothers Mike, Fred, Robert (Marjorie), Jack, Jim, Donnie, Muriel (Clarence) Wales, Irene Archibald and her mother and father in law Harry and Olive Wales.
Doris spent her childhood life and teen years near Pleasantdale, SK., where she met Cecil. After his return from the army in WWII they were married July 11, 1945. Their son Wayne was born in Melfort, SK., and later Sharon in Olds. They lived in Peace River, Crammond area, then Shilo until their retirement in Innisfail in 1992. Doris was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary and the Innisfail Legion. Funeral services were held at Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:00pm with Father Tom Puslecki officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
