Dr. Loren Hugh Quartly March 12, 1949 – May 11, 2017 The family of Dr. Loren Quartly are deeply saddened to announce his passing in the Foothills Hospital at Calgary on May 11, 2017 at the age of 68 with his loving family by his side. Loren was born in Innisfail to Stewart and Phyllis. He took his schooling in Innisfail and attended Chiropratic College in Ontario. After 40 years of practicing Chiropratic in Innisfail, Loren kept his passion for his profession and his patients. It was never just a job, it was who he was: making people laugh, treating the soul and the body with humour and compassion. He was an avid horseman, riding his horses, Ibn and Penny, to many Team Penning championships over the years. Loren is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Vanessa, and his three children David (Julie), Monica (John) and Jonathon. Also left to remember him fondly are his grandchildren: Shaylin and Aidan; Joshua, Shannon and Cameron. He will be greatly missed by his siblings: Rod (Brenda), Terry (Don) and Brett (Reta) and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and patients. He was predeceased by the eldest sister, Gail. Loren’s sense of humour and compassionate ways endeared him to all who knew him. He would want you to remember that, in the end, Laughter truly is the best medicine. A Celebration of Loren’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 Innisfail, Alberta on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favourite charity The Salvation Army.
